Giant forests of the past.


In the photo above, you can see the barbaric and hard work of California lumberjacks. Please note that the diameter of the stump is 3-4 times the height of the workers. Accordingly, according to the tree growth formula, the diameter of these trees is +/- 6 meters, and the height is more than 100!


But how long did these giants grow on our planet? This is clearly not 100, not 500, and not even 1000 years! Indirect confirmation of this may be found in the "Petrified forest national park" ... precious stumps.


Yes that's right! Giant precious cobblestones are nothing but the fossils of ancient forests hundreds of meters high.


It remains to be understood where these “real” forests have gone? And why don't trees grow higher than 50 meters now?
